The story of our organization began in the heart of Northeast India, where visionary leaders from the Rongmei, Riang, Hmar, and Kuki communities recognized the need for grassroots driven development initiatives. On August 5th, 1995, twenty-eight (28) committed leaders from the regions of Lungbungzang Lakhichera in Cachar, Assam, as well as Jiribam and Tamenglong in Manipur, came together to chart a new path for community empowerment. Their collective vision led to the creation of the People’s Action for Comprehensive Rural Development (PAFCORD) with its headquarters in Lungbungzang village. Again, on February 23rd, 1997, the organization embraced its current identity: People’s Endeavour for Social Changes (PESCH).
PESCH was officially registered under the Society Registration Act on March 3rd, 1997. Since then, our organization has remained committed to advancing sustainable development and lasting positive change, rooted in the collective will and action of the people we serve.
